Introduction: Increasing the numbers of patients with chronic diseases who need permanent support and
the staff who are daily exposed to psychological stress require hospitals pay attention to health promotion
plan as a key and important service.
Method: In this descriptive-comparative study, different health promotion models were included. Data
were collected via library tools and analyzed via comparative tables.
Results: To implement health-promoting hospitals, 6 main factors were identified: society, policy making,
management, publishing (information), techniques for projects implementation, and evaluation.
Discussion and Conclusion: To create a health-promoting hospital, various dimensions and factors are
needed. The hospitals must not only pay attention to policy making and health-promoting planning, but also
to implement this planning, must consider the appropriate techniques and evaluate the implemented plans.
