Assessment Visibility of Evidence-Based Medicine Resources

Introduction: By increasing the number of the Inlinks, the electronic resources will be more visible in the electronic environment. Considering the importance of visibility of Evidence-Based Medicine Resources, the purpose of this study was to Assessment Visibility of Evidence-Based Medicine Resources.

Methods: This study was an applied work regarding its purpose, which has been conducted through webometric methods. The statistical population consisted of six evidence-based medicine resources. The reason for choosing these databases was that they are being Subscription by the university and researchers have access to them. The used tool was the Alexa search engine. The collected data was analyzed through direct observation and after being entered into the software Excel.

Results: Based on data obtained from Alexa search engine, Up To Date database had the highest number of the Inlinks and the highest visibility. After that, Cochrane, MD Consult, Clinical Key and Clinical Evidence databases were in the next ranks respectively. Nursing Consult database had the lowest number of the Inlinks and the lowest visibility.

Conclusion: The overall results of this study showed that The number of the Inlinks and the visibility did not have a satisfactory status, and the designers and managers of databases are recommended to pay more attention to offering services so as to increase the number of the Inlinks and attract visitors from different countries.
